Meet Dr. Mikhaylova
Dr. Margarita Mikhaylova is a board-certified neurologist specializing in clinical neurophysiology, with board-certification in epilepsy. She earned dual B.A and M.A degrees in Biology with Specialization in Biotechnology at the Hunter-Macaulay Honors College. After obtaining her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine-NYIT, she completed a medical internship at Mt. Sinai Queens Hospital Center and subsequently trained in neurology at the Northwell North Shore-LIJ University Hospital where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She continued on at North Shore Hospital for advanced fellowship in clinical neurophysiology with a focus on electroencephalography (EEG) and epilepsy.
Throughout her training, Dr. Mikhaylova has been passionate about teaching. She has presented posters at the American Academy of Neurology’s annual meeting and has been invited to teach neurosciences at the Tel-Aviv University-Sackler School of Medicine.
Dr. Mikhaylova has a special interest in the treatment of headache disorders and has been published on the management of medication-overuse headaches. She is trained in Botox treatment for various conditions,including chronic migraine, cervical dystonia, TMJ dysfunction and hyperhidrosis.
Above all else, Dr. Mikhaylova is a patient-focused physician whose goal is to offer collaborative, personalized and compassionate care to patients with a wide array of neurological concerns.
